The Magic Of The Singing Bowls

After this particular session, he asked, xxxing his head with his twinkly smile; "Any questions?"

To which someone in the audience said; "Can we take you home?!"

And he said, well, my lovely wife gets to take me home :) but you're welcome to come up and play with the bowls..

So, I'm the lucky (lovely!) wife... and we both are LOVING how beautifully Denise Gallant captured the essence of Ryan's other Love.

Mountain Bikers Of Santa Cruz

There are thousands of acres of open space in Santa Cruz County on the table including the Nisene Marks State Park, Henry Cowell, Wilder/Gray Whale, UCSC, DeLaveaga and the Coast Dairies property. MBOSC is your strongest voice for more multi-use trails in these areas and to make that voice stronger, we need to work together to build MBOSC's membership and fight against those who don't want multi-use trails in your parks.

Come out to Seabright for a beer with some mountain bikers. Most of the time we have an agenda but high on the agenda is "What beer should we order?"

We usually discuss mountain biking issues in Santa Cruz county, advocacy, event planning and land use. Sometimes we have schwag and special guest speakers. Mostly we chat about bikes, rides, cool trails and drink some great beer.

Meet 7 PM on the second Monday of the month at Seabright Brewery.
We usually meet on the back patio.

It is free of charge, but students earn their way into the program by designing and performing a project to benefit their community.

Thought you'd like to know just for your own inspiration(!), we did find our perfect place for this now moment. Supposedly completely random (response to craigslist sublet post). This woman and I had met for one brief evening, over a campfire 1500 miles away from here, at a sustainable home-building summer camp for/with Lakota at Wounded Knee on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation maybe couple years ago. She recognized my voice and was stoked to sublet to us. So we moved into her place while she has gone again to build with Lakota for the summer. Another pretty amazing set-up we thought!!

Corrina wrote:
We are a great couple who love hanging out with each other (20 years on!) and we've lived in some pretty amazing set-ups, from tiny footprint to ranch-size house.
Live Oak Santa Cruz Santa Cruz Farmers Market

Sundays, 10 a.m to 2 p.m.
May through November.
21509 E Cliff Dr

The purpose of the Santa Cruz Community Farmers market (SCCFM) is to provide local farmers a time and place to bring the freshest, highest quality, most nutritious, and most reasonably priced food to residents of the community. SCCFM operates three markets in the Santa Cruz area: The Downtown Santa Cruz Market on Wednesday afternoons, the Sunday Live Oak Market, and the West Side Farmers Market on Saturday mornings.

The Wednesday Downtown Santa Cruz Market is a large, all-year market with as many as 50 vendors during the peak season. It has been around since the 1989 earthquake. At that time, the Downtown Association brought us in to help revive the downtown. We were sponsored by the DTA until 1995, when we become a non-profit organization with a Board of Directors made up mostly of the farmers who come to the market. The Sunday Live Oak Market is a small seasonal market. It was started in 1999 to offer fresh produce in a small friendly environment. This summer, the Westside Farmers’ Market on Saturday mornings will serve the west side of Santa Cruz.

All of the farmers at the market pay an annual membership fee to be members of this non-profit. Most of these farmers work a different farmers market every day of the week and derive most of their income from these markets. The SCCFM markets have the highest percentage of organic farmers of any market in the area, and probably in the country. Not only does the market provide the community with healthy, fresh, economically priced food, but you get the chance to meet and talk with the people who grow your food. In our global economy where we eat food from halfway around the world, this is a rare opportunity.

The market is a major event for the community and brings many benefits to the community the fresh and varied produce, the chance to meet farmers and all your friends at the market, and the beauty of the all.

Santa Cruz Bicycles

Bikes! New Ones! Check em out!

Trade show season is hauling toward us like an out-of-control freight train, and we're already bracing ourselves for the anticipated outbreak of sore feet, sore backs and hoarse voices. To assist the development of all those signature trade show symptoms, we're going to be introducing three new bikes as well:

V-10
After revolutionizing the downhill race world by mating the seemingly incongruous concepts of bottomless long travel performance with extraordinary pedaling efficiency, the V-10 became the Gold Standard of the DH circuit. For 2008, this no-compromise race machine has undergone further transformation. Thanks to some very careful redesign of the aluminum frame sections and a carbon fiber upper link, the new frame weighs in almost two pounds lighter and offers lower standover than the old one. The suspension has been revised to sit higher in its travel for a livelier ride, resulting in a lighter, tighter package with 254mm of rear wheel travel and razor sharp handling designed to do one thing: cut the fastest, most direct line to the top step of the podium.

Chameleon
Following a long run as one of our most beloved jacks-of-all trades, the Chameleon has recently undergone some nip and tuck work. The aluminum frame is still as workhorse solid as ever, with a heavily gusseted head tube region capable of handling the loads of 160mm forks, super-bomber tough seat and chain stays and a new hydroformed top tube. We've added a stealthy new ultra-light eccentric BB and vertical dropouts for easy wheel removal and disc brake use with either gears or set up as a single speed, and we've employed the swank replaceable derailleur hanger from the Heckler. Set it up however you want it's a single speed! An XC hardtail! A jump bike! It slices! It dices! It gets rid of your gambling debts! It plays a mean rhythm section! Well, you get the picture...

Stigmata
Santa Cruz, making a cross bike? Is this some kind of joke
